Andre Kirk Agassi, an Iranian Assyrian-American (born April 29, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada) is a former World No. 1 men's professional tennis player from the United States.

His Parent are Persian from Urmia,Uromiyeh (ارومیه) Rezaiyeh (رضائیه) in northwestern Iran.

His father, Emmanuel "Mike" Agassi, was a boxer for Iran in the 1948 and 1952 Olympics before emigrating to the U.S. When he became a citizen, he shortened his name from Agassian to Agassi.

Andre Agassi has won eight Grand Slam singles titles, and is one of only five players to have won all four Grand Slam events. He is considered by many fans to be among the all-time great tennis players.

After a four-year courtship, Agassi married actress Brooke Shields in a lavish ceremony on April 19, 1997. That February, they had filed suit against The National Enquirer claiming it printed "false and fabricated" statements: Brooke was undergoing counseling, binge-eating and taking pills; Agassi "lashed into" Brooke and he and Brooke's mother "tangled like wildcats" when she demanded a prenup; the case was dismissed. Agassi filed for divorce, which was granted on April 9, 1999.

By the time the divorce was final, Agassi was dating the German tennis legend Steffi Graf. With only their mothers as witnesses, they were married at his home on October 22, 2001. Their son, Jaden Gil, was born 6 weeks prematurely on October 26 that year. Their daughter, Jaz Elle, was born on October 3, 2003.

In 1995, when Agassi's former brother-in-law, Pancho Gonzales, died broke and nearly friendless in Las Vegas, it was Andre Agassi who paid for his funeral.

Queen: World Persian_British Rock Singer...

Faroukh Bulsara Or Freddie Mercury (September 5, 1946 – November 24, 1991) a Persian hot blood Iranian was a pianist, songwriter, arranger, singer, and lead vocalist of the British rock band Queen.

Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Stone Town, Zanzibar (Zanzibar was settled by Persian immigrants from Shiraz, and the name Zanzibar probably derives from the Persian زنگبار Zangi-bar meaning "Coast of the Blacks". However, the name could also have been derived from the Arabic Zayn Z'al Barr, meaning "Fair is this land". The island was later a Portuguese possession from 1503 to 1698. )

The Zoroastrian Indian (also known as Parsi) parents. His parents Bomi and Jer Bulsara had immigrated to Zanzibar so his father could continue his job at the British Colonial Office. He also had a sister, Kashmira.

Mercury was educated at St. Peter's boarding school in Panchgani near Mumbai, India, where he had his first musical training (Grade IV piano). His first onstage performance was also at St. Peters, with his five-member school band, the Hectics. It was at St. Peter's where he picked up the name 'Freddie' ; soon even his parents addressed him by that name. Mercury finished this high school from St. Mary's High School in Magazon, Mumbai, India.

After spending his formative years in India, Mercury and his family fled Zanzibar because of the revolution of 1964. He was 18 when he arrived in England. There, he pursued a Diploma in Art and Graphic Design at Ealing Art College, following in the footsteps of Pete Townshend. This knowledge was to come in useful when he designed Queen's famous crest.

In 1972, Mercury recorded a one-off single under the stage name Larry Lurex, a cover of the 1969 Beach Boys minor hit I Can Hear Music. Despite an incredibly dense Spector-esque Wall of Sound production and instrumental backing by Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May, the song failed to chart in the UK, though it did manage a #115 showing on the US charts in the autumn of 1973, when it was released on the tiny Anthem label, just ahead of Queen's first album. Widely bootlegged. the original record is now a valuable collectable, fetching up to £400.

With a wide vocal range and a somewhat operatic technique, he was one of the most versatile and technically accomplished singers to work in the pop idiom. He was the composer of many of Queen's hits, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love", and "We Are the Champions".

Shohreh Aghdashloo
شهره آغداشلو born 11 May 1952 in Tehran, Persia (Iran) is a Los Angeles-based, Persian actress and self-proclaimed activist. She is outspoken against her native Iran's current regime.

Aghdashloo was born Shohreh Vaziri-Tabar

Aghdashloo is the name of her former husband, famous Persian painter Aydin Aghdashloo to a wealthy family in 1953.

She entered acting school at a young age, and acted at the age of 20 in some movies in her native Persia (Iran) like The Report, which was directed by the director Abbas Kiarostami.

After the 1979 Revoluton, she left Iran for England, where she finished her education. Her interest in politics and social justice drove her to earn a Bachelor's degree in International Relations.

She is married to Persian theatre actor and director Hooshang Tozi.

Shohreh Aghdashloo arriving at the 62nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in Beverly Hills, Calif.

She was one of the nominees for the Oscar in 2004 for the category of Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Renée Zellweger won the award, though many say that Aghdashloo deserved the award. Many of her compatriots believe her nomination was more political than artistic.

http://www.hfpa.org/html/HFPA-Philanthropy.html

During the fourth season of 24 TV series,

Aghdashloo had a recurring role as a Muslim terrorist, in a storyline that raised controversy among Iranian-American (and even Arab) communities.

http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&id=1803468953&cf=gen

In an interview with TIME magazine, she stated that although she had previously resisted reinforcing the stereotype of Muslims as terrorists, the strength and complexity of the role convinced her to accept the part. However, her role in the series 24 has brought about a lot of resentment among her fellow Iranians who are offended by her depicting of them as terrorists.

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/05/fall/lookbooklet/a ghdashloo.htm

Despite the different views on the storyline, her role of Dina Araz, and her performance, was an instant hit with viewers and her character's off screen death — although confirmed by the producers — has many fans hoping, and coming up with conspiracy theories, for her to come back.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3433895.stm

In 2006, she will appear in X-Men 3 , the third film adaptation of the long-running comic book.
