Roman Catholicism : fasting is the reduction of one's intake of food to one full meal which may contain meat and two small meals, but eating solid food between meals is not permitted
In the Judaism with holy book Torah :
Fasting in Jewish practice means complete abstinence from all food and drink, including water.
Partial or total exemptions apply in many cases for those who are ill, those for whom fasting would pose a medical risk, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
In the Bahá’í faith:
Bahá'u'lláh established the guidelines in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas.
It is the complete abstaining from both food and drink (including abstaining from smoking).

Freedom of the Homosexuality in Zoroastrianism is the human right, as in many other religions, a controversial topic. Orthodox Zoroastrians tend to favor the suppression of homosexuality in their community while more socially progressive Zoroastrians accept homosexuality. Generally, homosexuality is discouraged by the majority of Zoroastrians.
Zarathustra's teachings believe this is proof that homosexuality is not sinful.
from Parsi tradition and life style. In the 8th Century.
To this day, orthodox Zoroastrians do not accept converts or any one from out side or any from other religions.

Persian Fashion on the Hollywood Red Carpet*
“BEHNAZ SARAFPOUR is considered one of the brightest lights on the American design horizon”
http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/2006/spring/main/newy ork/runway/behnazsarafpour/
And finally, Iranian-born Behnaz Sarafpour is really making her presence felt in New York, and insiders feel it’s only a matter of time before she makes it big in LA. She recently dressed and accompanied Claire Danes to the high-profile CFDA awards. Vogue’s revered Anna Wintour predicted that Sarafpour was poised to become “the next best thing”. Famous in fashion circles for her romantic, ethereal designs, Sarafpour also studied at Parsons, and worked for Anne Klein, Isaac Mizrahi and Barney’s private label before striking out on her own. She’s also dressed Chole Sevigny, Selma Blair and Mandy Moore, and is as humble and low-key as any talent in the business could be. Along with the P. Diddy-backed Zac Posen, and media darlings Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler fame, Sarafpour is considered one of the brightest lights on the American design horizon- another young designer who’ll likely pick up where some of our current fashion greats will one day, sadly but inevitably, leave off.*
The Label
Sarafpour designs the ready-to-wear herself and is launching a handbag collection for spring 2006.
The Look
Simple cuts and fabrics, lots of black punctuated with bursts of color, men’s fabrics softened or made youthful with belting or banding, streamlined coordinated separates, and occasional gold threading and accessories. Editors love her signature coats and dresses.
The Designer(s)
Iranian-born Sarafpour started working for Anne Klein before she even graduated from Parsons School of Design. While with Klein, she worked with the likes of Narciso Rodriguez, Louis Dell'Olio, and Richard Tyler before moving over to a position with Isaac Mizrahi, who she has described as her mentor. Sarafpour designed for Barney’s private label before finally launching her own line in 2001. Unwavering support from fashion top dogs, Vogue's Anna Wintour and Barneys VP Merchandising Julie Gilhart, has ensured her place among New York's new guard that includes Zac Posen, Derek Lam, and Proenza Schouler.
Who Wears It
Anyone with a taste for lean and elegant looks, from established starlets Cate Blanchett and Claire Danes to models Jacquetta Wheeler and Ivanka Trump.

Goli Ameri: Iranian-American United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR).
Goli Ameri Appointed by President Bush as one of Three Public Delegates to the UN Human Rights Commission
***********************
Goli Ameri (in Persian:گلی عامری) (nee Goli Yazdi) is a Republican Iranian-American businesswoman who ran for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon. She was born in 1956 in Tehran, Iran.
She first came to the United States when she was 17, in order to get an education at Stanford. There, she received her B.A. in Communications and French Literature and, later, her master's degree in Communications. She also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. At Stanford, she met and later married Jim Ameri, a real-estate investor. She permanently settled in the United States after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, and became a citizen several years later.
She is president of eTinium, Inc., a telecommunications consulting firm in Portland, Oregon. She has two teenage sons.
President George W. Bush
Chosen her as Ambassador to the UN Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR).
Goli Ameri has been appointed by President George W. Bush as one of three public delegates to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. The 2005 meeting of the UN Commission on Human Rights will take place March 14 through April 22 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Ameri was later appointed by George W. Bush as one of three public members of the United States' delegation to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, which meets annually in Geneva, Switzerland. Ameri has also been invited to speak at events on Middle East issues nationwide, including a testimony before the United States Senate.
***************************
In the summer of 2005, President Bush appointed Ameri as the head of the United States' delegation to the United Nations General Assembly, which is headquartered in New York City. She was sworn-in by U.N. Ambassador John R. Bolton in late September, 2005 and will serve until the end of the session. She will also receive Senate confirmation for this position, but the date of the Senate's vote has still not been determined.
The US delegation is headed by former Senator Rudy Boschwitz who has been nominated by the White House for the position of Ambassador to the UN Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR). Senator Boschwitz served in the US Senate from 1978-1991. Former Ambassadors to the UNCHR include Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick who served in the Geneva post in 2003.
"The United States wants the Commission to better fulfill its mandate to strengthen human rights and fundamental freedoms around the world. I am honored to have been appointed by the president and to represent the United States on the Commission," said Goli Ameri former Republican nominee for Congress in Oregon's first district. "I look forward to actively participating in the upcoming session."
The Commission's annual meeting is an opportunity to focus attention on countries where there are significant human rights problems. The US delegation is also committed to promoting democracy worldwide. In this regard, the United States plans to work with other countries to encourage discussion of ways that the Commission can foster reform in nations that are determined to advance democracy and human rights.
Ms. Goli Ameri is the first Iranian-American to receive a Presidential appointment to this post.
Office: 503 968-8437

2004 Campaign of Representatives U.S. House
In 2004, she handily defeated moderate, small businessman Tim Phillips and conservative Jason Meshell by a 2-1 margin each to become the official nominee of the Republican Party for Oregon's 1st district seat in the House of Representatives and challenge three-term incumbent Democrat David Wu. Her attempt to become a member of Congress was a subject of admiration and discussion in Iran and around the world. It attracted interest because she was born in a country marked as part of the "Axis of Evil" by George W. Bush's administration and yet she won the nomination of Bush's own party.
Ameri's campaign gained a great deal of attention from political insiders in Washington, D.C. because of her fast-paced fundraising skills. The contest between her and Wu also received some national attention when, late in the campaign, Wu admitted that he had been disciplined for attempted sexual assault of a female classmate while he was a student at Stanford. Ameri heavily pushed the issue in the closing days of the campaign, which contributed to her loss in the election.

Anousheh Ansari Best IRANIAN-AMERICAN Engineer Piloted Spacecraft Foundation NASA's in the Whole World.
خانم ثروتمند ايراني ترس از فضا ندارد
×××××××××
Anousheh Ansari Born in 1967 in Tehran, Iran, Ansari witnessed the Iranian revolution in 1979.
She immigrated to the United States in 1984 at the age of sixteen and received her bachelor's of science in electrical engineering and computer science at George Mason University.
She received her master's degree at George Washington University.
She is co-founder and CEO of Telecom Technologies, Inc. (TTI).
Along with her brother-in-law Amir Ansari, she made a multi-million contribution to the X-Prize foundation on May 5, 2004, the 43rd anniversary of Alan Shepard's sub-orbital space flight.
The X-Prize was officially renamed the Ansari X Prize in honor of their donation.
Ansari, along with her husband Hamid and brother-in-law Amir, founded TTI in 1993. The company was acquired by Sonus Networks in 2000.
Ansari was listed in Fortune magazine's "40 under 40" list in 2001 and honored by Working Woman magazine as the winner of the 2000 National Entrepreneurial Excellence award.
The Ansari X Prize (formerly the X Prize) was a US$10,000,000 prize, offered by the X PRIZE Foundation,
For the first non-government organization to launch a reusable manned spacecraft into space twice within two weeks.
It was modeled after early 20th-century aviation prizes, and aimed to spur development of low-cost space flight. The prize was won on October 4, 2004, exactly 47 years after the launch of Sputnik 1, by the Tier One project using the experimental
The X Prize was designed to help encourage the space industry in the private sector, which is why the entries were not allowed to have any government funding. It aimed to demonstrate that space flight could be affordable and accessible to corporations and civilians, opening the door to commercial space flight and space tourism. It is also hoped that competition will breed innovation, introducing new low-cost methods of reaching Earth orbit. If everything goes as planned, the X Prize winners could become pioneers of low-cost space travel and unfettered human expansion into the solar system.
The X Prize was modeled after many prizes from the early 20th century that helped prod the development of air flight, including notably the $25,000 Orteig Prize that spurred Charles Lindbergh to make his solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
NASA is developing similar prize programs called Centennial Challenges to generate innovative solutions to space technology problems.
The contest winner was to be the first team to launch a piloted spacecraft, carrying at least three crewmembers (or one human pilot and payload equivalent to two more), to an altitude of at least 100 kilometers (328,100 ft or 62.14 mi), and then repeat the feat using the same spacecraft within two weeks. Reaching orbit was not a goal, and so all the competitors aimed to make suborbital flights only. The spacecraft were permitted to land at the same site that they launched from. The 100 km target is the boundary of space as defined by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
The two competitive flights were required to be made by the same vehicle. With the exception of propellant, no more than 10% of the vehicle could be replaced between flights; the rest of the vehicle must be reused. Even NASA's Space Shuttle falls short of this performance requirement, since it takes much more than two weeks to ready a given shuttle between flights. The vehicle must be intact and theoretically reusable after the second flight, and the crew must return unharmed.
Altitudes achieved were measured by three separate systems. There was a flight recorder, referred to as the "gold box", carried on each competitive flight, and two separate radar systems were used. Official altitudes were determined by a compromise between the three systems.
Teams were forbidden to accept government funding for their efforts. Private sponsors were acceptable, however.
